Sungrow Troubleshooting (iSolarCloud Offline + Dongles)
Step-by-step troubleshooting
1) Check if the inverter is actually running
- Look at the inverter screen
- Is it showing normal generation (kW output)?
- Any fault or error codes displayed?
If it’s producing power but the app says offline, it’s likely a communication issue only.
2) Check your internet connection
- Is your home Wi-Fi working?
- Has your router been reset recently?
- Any recent password change?
If yes, the Wi-Fi dongle likely needs reconnecting.
3) Check the Wi-Fi / Dongle lights
Most Sungrow systems use one of these:
- Wi-Fi dongle
- LAN dongle
- 4G dongle
Look for:
- Solid green = connected
- Flashing = trying to connect
- No light = no power
4) Reboot everything (fixes most cases)
- Turn off inverter AC isolator
- Turn off DC isolator
- Wait 2 to 3 minutes
- Turn DC back on
- Turn AC back on
- Restart your internet router
- Wait 5 to 10 minutes and check the app again
5) Check the monitoring app
Most systems use iSolarCloud:
- Check if it says “Device Offline”
- Check last update time
- Confirm the correct plant/site is selected
Common causes in Australia
- Router auto updates (NBN changes)
- Weak Wi-Fi signal in garage
- Storm or power outage reset the router
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi disabled (Sungrow often needs 2.4GHz)
