Powering Business Grant
Eligible small businesses and not-for-profits can apply for the Powering Business Grant, which covers up to 50% of costs for energy-efficient or renewable upgrades. Projects valued at $5,000–$150,000 (ex-GST) may receive $2,500–$75,000 back.
Cheaper Home Batteries Program
Homes, businesses and community groups can get around 30% off small-scale battery systems (5–100 kWh) through the Cheaper Home Batteries Program. Funded by the government and run by the Clean Energy Regulator, the discount helps cut power bills, increase solar use, and support a more stable grid.
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
STCs lower the upfront cost of renewable energy systems for homes and businesses, supporting cleaner energy, grid stability, and lower electricity prices. Eligible systems—solar PV, batteries, wind, hydro, water heaters, and heat pumps—earn STCs based on location, installation date, electricity generated or displaced, and battery capacity.
